Wedding photographers are offered such a rare glimpse into the most intimate and heartfelt moments on wedding days. We are often there from when the bride is spending her last moments as a Miss with her best girlfriends. We get to witness the banter and mateship among the lads over a beer before the groom heads to wait for his bride. We are there to see dad's tears when he first sees his daughter in her wedding dress, and we are there to offer calm words to mum if she needs them. We do zips up on dresses, we humour the little ones when they need it and as much as possible, we pat the pets. Being a wedding photographer is about taking photos and capturing the memories from the day in images, but it is also way much more than that.

Jess and Nathan got married at their gorgeous family home in beautiful York. Their day was calm, full of love, beautiful. Jess's speech was about their love story and how they met, and I know for a fact that I was all smiles behind the camera listening to her tell it, acknowledging that the universe was steadfast in its plans for them to meet. They danced their first dance their own way, they laughed, they cried, and by God they loved. And I loved too.

Thank you Jess and Nathan for welcoming me into your lives on one of your most special days. I will never forget it. x
